Currently in the UK you can receive three penalty points on your driving licence for talking on your mobile without a hands-free set. The government is now considering raising this to four penalty points. With only twelve points allowable on your driving licence, you could face a driving ban if you were caught driving while talking on a mobile three times. The use of handheld mobile phones when driving has been banned since 2006 and those found guilty of this could not only receive penalty points but could face heavy fines too.
