In today’s world, most everybody will need a car.  Some people need planes.  But for most a car is essential for living.  It takes people to work.  It takes people to go shopping.It transports people to their schools.  So what I would like to share is the 3 important parts of keeping your car in order.

This is from a perspective from my experience running a San Diego auto repair company.The two things I want to take a look at is your safety and the overall health of your car. 

So when it comes to safety you can put all types of maintenance as being critical to safety.  But one part of your car is really important to your safety.  That part is your brakes.With cars being able to travel much faster than before, good brakes are essential for safety. With more and more people having so many distractions good brakes are a must.By ensuring that your brakes are in good condition you will ensure yourself the ability to stop in time.Brakes that you make sure are well maintained will save lives and save money.  I have seen it first hand running a San Diego brakes shop.

In relation to your car, your car’s overall health will be dependant on how well maintained you keep your car.  Some of the important things to do are oil changes and tuneups. By making an effort to always change the oil you allow your car to run smoother and longer.By not always changing your oil you run the chance of ruining your engine.

Another thing you want to do is have regular tune ups.If you can do that you will be able to keep your car’s important functions taken care of.By performing this step you will have a car that runs smoother and cleaner.  If you don’t do this your car will run bad.  Some of the consequences could lead to failed smog tests.  Most of the cars that fail in my San Diego smog check shop are the ones that didn’t take care of those things.

So by making sure to accomplish this you will be ensuring the safety of your car and you and your loved ones.

Today most Americans are trying to find ways to save more of their money.  With the way the economy is you can’t blame them.  They look at cutting expenses.  Maybe they go out less.  Don’t buy things they don’t need.  But I would like to suggest a way you might not have thought about.  That way is in your car.

When people think of saving money with their cars, they think of gas.  They think of ways they can spend less on gas.But what I would like to point out that if your car is properly cared for you will save more in the long run.  I know this for a fact running my San Diego auto repair company. 

With a lot of cars people in general don’t think of doing maintenance. Unfortunately, when they do find themselves thinking about it, it is because it is too late.  They wait for something to go wrong or break down.  But from my experience waiting till that point makes the auto repair more expensive.

As an example let look at your brakes.If you can keep your brakes properly maintained you can prevent expensive repairs.  If you don’t you can  have expensive discs you have to repair.Or you might find the need to have the brake shoes replaced.By using your brakes properly and then maintaining them you will save yourself some money.  So take it in to a brake shop like my San Diego brake shop and you can find out if you need to do anything.  Thinks like making sure it has enough brake fluid. 

Or a lot of people won’t take their cars for tuneups.They disregard the engine’s maintenance.They aren’t doing an oil change as much as they are supposed to. This ends up making your cars engine to start running badly.So bad that the chances of it passing a smog test is slim at best.  From what I have seen running a smog test San Diego shop, if you fail a smog test, this can lead to expensive repairs just to get it to pass.

But if you do the proper maintenance you will keep your car running well.The motor is going to run much smoother and proper.Go and wait too long and it will end up costing you more money in the long run.

It is a new time and day.  The economy has changed.  With it, most Americans don’t have as much money to spend as before.In regards to the auto industry you are able to witness it.With the big three carmakers always losing money, you have proof that big items just aren’t being bought as much as before. 

With that being the case most Americans will have to keep all their cars much longer.  Keeping a car longer will require maintenance.  The better you can take care of your car the longer it will last.  So I would like to offer a couple of tips from my experience owning a San Diego auto repair company.

One of those things that can be so easily passed over is making sure your car runs clean. Why is this important?  Because if you don’t keep it running clean you could fail a smog test.  If you fail a smog test you could be in for some expensive repairs.  I have seen this time and time again from doing smog test San Diego.

All you have to do is make sure you change the oil and oil filter regularly.Als be positive that it is tuned up for all the regular tune ups.

Second issue not handled all the time is taking care of your brakes.You don’t really watch for it as much as you should.But everybody is positive that it is critical for safety.  But if you don’t take care of them, they can be an expensive repair.  I should know having to charge my clients to replace their brakes at my San Diego brakes shop.

Make certain that when you are using the brakes that you aren’t too hard on them. Be prepared for all your stops and then apply the brakes slowly.  Also make sure the brake fluids are enough.  This can save you a lot of money in repairs.

In this economy we are in we need every possible way to save money.It does not take a rocket scientist to notice that a lot of Americans are suffering during this economy.But instead of moaning about a lot of things, we can search out other ways to save money.

So I would like to offer some perspective from a San Diego auto repair shop owner.Now you may be thinking that I would be biased but listen to me first.After your reading of this you are going to see that it is sensible and money will be saved.

One of methods of saving money is to try and keep our cars for longer periods of time. In the height of this boom economy when everybody was benefiting people would just trade their cars all over the place. They would just trade their cars as soon as it was too old.So for the most part people just did not even think about having to maintain their car.

Well the way the economy is right now, we don’t have that luxury available anymore.  Most people can’t afford to just go out and get a new car.People are forced to hang on to their old ones.What it means is you will have to make an effort to maintain their cars.

One of the key maintenance items is making sure your car can pass a smog test.Once your car reaches a certain age it will be a requirement.If you are unable to pass the smog check, that can be the start of expensive repairs.  I know this first hand running my San Diego smog check shop. 

There are a few things you might to make certain you are able to pass the test.  You can always keep your car tuned up.You can make certain you change the oil filter and oil.  You can make sure the muffler is in good working order. 

This is where you can lose money.If you are unable to pass the smog check you might be in for some expensive repairs.  So by making sure you follow these maintenance procedures so you can save money.  By taking the time to maintain it now you won’t have to spend big on repairs later.

Don’t forget that you have to maintain your brakes as well.  With my experience with our San Diego brakes shop this is important as well. By ensuring that the brakes pads you have aren’t wworn down you can make your disc brakes last longer.  Not maintaining it can lead to expensive repairs.Follow these tips and you won’t have a problem saving money.

One of the things taken for granted in this world is driving a car.  It has become routine and for some people a mindless activity.You see people everywhere taking on the phone, reading, even doing makeup, etc. while driving. 

But if you really thought about it, your life is on the line everytime you drive a car.Whether it is your fault or someone else's, accidents happen.

One of the causes of accidents, although rare, is brake failure.Your brakes qualifies as one of the critical parts of your vehicle.Unfortunately, if it's out of sight it is out of mind.  I have seen this firsthand with my San Diego brakes shop.

Your brakes is most definitely not in sight.But it is the one car part that regular maintenance is a must.  Whether you do it yourself, or hire a San Diego auto repair shop, you have to maintain it.After all, your's and your family's life and safety depends on it.

With that in essence being the case, maintaining your breaks can be quite easy.You can do one of two things, you can take it to a brake repair shop or you can learn how to maintain it yourself.

Either way, the brake fluid level and the brake pad conditions are the two main things to look at.If you follow these two points vigilantly, you will ensure your brakes are safe. 

When checking the brake fluid levels all you need to do is locate the fluid reservoir level.  It is usually marked and has a 'min' line and a 'max' line.Make sure that the fluids are not below the 'min' line and you will not have any problems.

Also check to make sure that your brake fluid is clear and has a yellow color to it.If it is not, the brake fluid will need to be flushed and replaced with a new fluid.

Brake fluids are easy to maintain.The difficult part is maintaining your brake pads.  For this, more often than not you will need a brakes repair company like my San Diego brake shop. 

Most of the times your brake pads will let you know that they need to be replaced by making that loud screeching sound during braking.

If so, get them checked and if need be, replaced as soon as you can. Brake pads that are worn is hard to control or stop.

With your safety and your passenger's safety directly effected, this is a no brainer. Get it checked and if you have to, go and get your brakes fixed.

There are parts to your car that you need to keep aware of. In today’s times when autos have everything automatically, most of the times your cars maintenance gets neglected.  Believe me I have seen it all owning a San Diego auto repair shop.

After all, with cars that used to be cheap cars, like Hyundai’s being state of the art driving machines, it is easy to think nothing can go wrong with them.

That is a huge mistake.  There are still parts of your car that need to be maintained and paid attention to.  Most car owners usually do take care of oil changes.  Although that is important for the life of your car, what most people neglect is their brakes.  Which is of extreme importance to their life and their family’s lives.

So let’s take a look at your brakes and knowing when it is time to change them because they have become unsafe.

First sign of brakes needed to be replaced is when they grind or scratch.  Usually this is an indicator that the metal plate that holds the brake pad is gone and now you have it rubbing against the rotor.  This is a bad sign and you definitely need to replace your brakes immediately.

Second symptom is when your brakes make a loud screeching or a high pitch noise.  This happens by a condition they call glazed.  This happens when a person constantly does excessive braking causing the rotors to get too hot.  The rotors are then burned.  

You fix this by going to a brake shop like my San Diego brake shop.

A third condition that happens to your brakes is vibrations.  If you have warped rotors and drums, braking will cause a vibration. This happens when their is too much heat and this causesthem to lose their shape.  When it occurs, your rotor has to be replaced.

The last problem to take notice of is when your brakes start to pull. What occurs when you are braking is your vehicle want to pull in one direction.  This occurs when the brake calipers are not being applied evenly.  A fluid leak is what causes this.  To find out which side is leaking, you are going to need a mechanic to take a look at it.  How you fix this is by replacing the caliper removing all the air out of the brakes.
